Aakash Chopra feels that India should give preference to Kuldeep Yadav ahead of Washington Sundar in the fourth and final Test against England, starting from March 4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After being ignored by the Indian team management in the series opener in Chennai, Kuldeep finally made it to the playing XI in the second match where he scalped two wickets against the Joe Root-led side.
However, young all-rounder, Sundar, was picked ahead of him for the pink-ball Test as the hosts were looking to strengthen their batting unit.
Ahead of the upcoming game in Ahmedabad, Chopra was asked by a fan, if India should include the chinaman bowler once again in the playing XI.
Responding to the user, Chopra said that the home team should go with three spinners in the next game and need to give a chance to Kuldeep Yadav over the 21-year-old all-rounder.
“You should definitely play three spinners. You should ask yourselves a question if you need Washington or Kuldeep because the ball has changed now,” Chopra said in his latest YouTube video.
“You had dropped Washi after the first Test only because he had not bowled well. He had scored 85 there as well. You had included him to get batting depth in the pink-ball match. It is not fair on either of them but you should pick a bowling lineup that can take 20 wickets, where I feel Kuldeep is a better option,” the 43-year-old added.
