Overview:
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be the key players during the ODI series. The matches will take place in Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney before the Indian side begins preparations for the shortest format.
The Indian cricket team finally arrived in Perth on 16 October after a long flight delay. Captain Shubman Gill and his teammates checked into their hotel at 4 am. Reports revealed that the delay was because of the flight from Delhi, which was four hours late.
The late take-off also disrupted the team’s connecting flight in Singapore, resulting in their arrival in Perth during the early hours. Among the first to land in Perth were Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and KL Rahul. India are set to play three ODIs and five T20Is against Mitchell Marsh’s Australian side, starting from 19 October.
Cricket journalist Vimal Kumar shared that tight security measures at Perth Airport prevented fans from getting close to the players. However, as it was late at night and the players were visibly tired, they went straight to their rooms without engaging with fans or posing for photos.
