With India going through the severe effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Virat Kohli has decided to help the countrymen in these testing times yet again. The Indian skipper on Sunday took to his official Instagram handle and launched a campaign to raise funds for the families who lost their earning members to the deadly virus.

The 32-year-old batsman also urged his fans and followers to make donations and lend a helping hand to the people who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Over 250,000 families have lost earning members to COVID-19 impacting their livelihood. Today, I join Team for Humanity to raise funds for families economically affected by COVID. You can join us too by donating at the link in the bio,” Virat wrote in a long caption.

“@give_india’s global fundraiser is bringing together athletes from across the world to bring these families the help they desperately require. So, join us and let’s all play for the only team that really matters. #TeamforHumanity #SocialForGood,” he added.

Earlier, Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma launched a campaign ‘In This Together’ to raise money for COVID-19 relief measures. The couple also made a generous contribution to the campaign by donating Rs 2 crore and urged everyone to support them in this noble cause.

Notably, Virat and Anushka are currently spending quality time with each other in England ahead of Team India’s upcoming five-match Test series against the Joe Root-led side.
