Former India skipper Virat Kohli has had a complete turnaround in form during the Asia Cup 2022. Before the continental cup, the 34-year-old struggled to score runs, but after he scored his 71st international century against Afghanistan, the talismanic batter has been in hot form.
Despite India’s disappointing exit from the T20 World Cup, Kohli was excellent with the bat, as he was the tournament’s leading run-getter with 296 runs.
The only tournament Virat would be eyeing to return to form would be the IPL. He amassed just 341 runs in the last edition and got replaced by Faf du Plessis as the captain of the side.
Du Plessis recently appeared on ‘The Grade Cricketer’, where he talked about Virat Kohli and revealed that he is the most passionate cricketer he has seen.
When asked whether it was difficult for Faf to lead a side with Virat as a teammate, Plessis said, “Virat is one of the most competitive guys in cricket. I salute him for his passion for the game and the energy he brings to the field.”
“His passion to celebrate a wicket is the same, be it the first or the last wicket. Hats off to him. He is superhuman.”
“When you play along with Virat Kohli, you will know another side of Virat, how caring he is and a family guy. He has lots of value as a person.”
