Suryakumar Yadav celebrating a century
Cricket Australia do not have enough money to buy SKY

India’s batting sensation Suryakumar Yadav has been in scintillating form. The 32-year-old became the first Indian player to score 1000+ T20I runs in a calendar year in 2022.

SKY scored his 2nd T20I century in the 2nd game against New Zealand, where he struck an unbeaten 111 (51). The MI star has emerged as the best T20I batter, and fellow cricketers across teams have been praising Surya for his consistency.

Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is the latest to join the bandwagon and praise SKY.  The 34-year-old is at home and out of action for about three months due to a broken leg. He appeared on ‘The Grade Cricketer ‘podcast and talked about his assessment of Surya.

When asked by the host to comment on how to bring Surya to BBL, Maxwell, with a big smile, said that Cricket Australia would not be able to afford Suryakumar.

“We do not have enough money in our cap to buy Suryakumar Yadav. Cricket Australia will have to sack every player, even the centrally contracted ones to gather the money and hope that he agrees.”

Maxwell further expressed his fondness for Yadav and said that he is unbelievably consistent with his skills, and no player comes close to him.

“He is frustratingly consistent. Yadav is so much better than everyone else. No player in the Australian side or even in the world comes close to him.”

“Sometimes in the IPL, Jos Buttler comes close to him, but SKY is on a different level. He is stupidly consistent.”
