They speak badly about our players to gain followers – Angry Sunil Gavaskar blasts Pakistani players over their YouTube channels

With the advent of social media, several former cricketers, who did not make a mark during their playing years, have gained several followers by turning into analysts and starting their YouTube channels.

Aakash Chopra is one of the few names from India to make it big through his YouTube channel. Mostly the trend is noticed in Pakistan, where players like Shoaib Akhtar, Salman Butt, Ramiz Raja, Danish Kaneria, and Rashid Latif often appear on their channels.

However, the pattern observed through their channels is that they rely on belittling Indian players and regularly bring Indian cricket into their cricket discussions, which has not gone well with Sunil Gavaskar.

The 73-year-old decoded Pakistani cricketers’ patterns and said that they knowingly talk about Indian players so that Indian media cover them and then they gain followers.

“It is a daily thing to hear a Pakistan player pulling down an Indian and praising their country’s talent. They know that the Indian media will immediately cover them, and when the fans defend the Indian star, it will increase the followers of the channels across the border.”

“It is a trick they know will fetch them more followers. Have you ever seen an Indian player, active or former, say something like that for Pakistani players? Never. We do not care, nor is it our style.”

Sunil Gavaskar is unhappy with the way Pakistani players talk about Indian players on YouTube. The former cricketer says that they do this to gain followers, and it is not in the best interest of either country.
