Indian players recently enjoyed a late-night singing session after winning the second ODI against Sri Lanka by three wickets. Deepak Chahar’s unbeaten knock of 69 runs and a fluent fifty from Suryakumar Yadav guided the visitors to an emphatic win at the R. Premadasa Stadium.
Chasing a target of 276 runs, the Men in Blue lost five wickets for just 116. However, it was Chahar, who steadied the ship for the Shikhar Dhawan-led side and took the game away from the hosts.
The 28-year-old also stitched an important partnership of 84 runs with senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar to take the visitors over the line.
Following India’s impressive win, Suryakumar took to his official Instagram handle and shared a video in which he along with Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Krishnappa Gowtham and others can be seen singing a popular Bollywood song.
Captioning the post, Surya wrote, “Extended Celebration.”
Meanwhile, India’s stand-in skipper Shikhar Dhawan showered praise on Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar for their brilliant performances in the second ODI.
“The way Manish Pandey and Suryakumar were batting, we thought they would take us home. Hard luck to Pandey for the way he got out,” the southpaw said in the post-match presentation.
“We knew that Chahar has worked hard in the nets on his batting. His presence of mind and calculations against the leg-spinner were amazing. Both Bhuvi and him calculated it really well,” he added.
