Former India captain and one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket, Sunil Gavaskar, has showered praise on Virat Kohli-led side. The 71-year-old feels that there is no weakness in the current Indian side as it is full of match-winners.
According to Gavaskar, the current unit led by Virat Kohli is the best ever produced in the history of Indian cricket.
Explaining the reason behind his statement, Gavaskar said that the current Indian team is well-balanced and it comprises a long list of “fabulous” players.
“I think this is probably the finest Indian team that we have seen. It’s such a well-balanced team. It’s got champion batsmen, champion fast bowlers, fabulous spinners. They’ve got a young wicketkeeper who is going to dominate world cricket for a long, long time,” the former India skipper said on the Analyst Show on YouTube.
“You could say at the top, or here and there, but I don’t think there is any weakness in this Indian team,” he added.
Notably, Team India is currently gearing up for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final in Southampton, followed by the five-match Test series against England. The much-anticipated WTC final between India and New Zealand is scheduled to take place from June 18 till June 22 at the Ageas Bowl with June 23 kept as a reserve day.
