Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar took to social media to wish Dinesh Karthik, who will be in the commentary box, good luck ahead of the World Test Championship final. He shared a picture with the wicketkeeper-batsman and wrote: “He made his India Test debut when I was a consultant to the Indian cricket team. Now he will make his commentary debut with the WTC finals. I’m sure he will do well in the box too. Good luck @dk00019!”
The middle-order batsman of Kolkata Knight Riders thanked the former India skipper for his blessings. “Will be glad to be alongside you, thanks for the blessings sir,” Karthik left a comment on the legendary batsman’s post.
India will take on New Zealand in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, beginning at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton from June 18.
The Indian team had already landed in England and the players are currently in a hard quarantine for three days. After three days, the players will be allowed to train in groups.
On the other hand, New Zealand are currently playing a two-match Test series against England.
