Sydney Sixers batter Steve Smith scored the joint-second fastest hundred in the Big Bash League during the contest against Sydney Thunder on Friday. He completed his century in 41 deliveries and his innings was laced with nine sixes and five boundaries. He smashed four consecutive sixes in the 12th over.
The right-handed batter amassed 30 runs of the 32-run over bowled by Ryan Hadley, where Smith added four successive maximums along with a four to his total.
Hadley delivered the first of the two Power Surge overs, where only two fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard-circle.
Smith managed 100 runs off 42 deliveries before Tanveer Sangha took his wicket.
Sydney Sixers defeated the Sydney Thunder by five wickets, with 16 balls left.
