Sri Lanka Legends are all set to face the Sachin Tendulkar-led side in the much-anticipated final of the ongoing Road Safety World Series.

After thrashing the South Africa Legends by eight wickets in the second semifinal, Sri Lanka Legends are all set to face the Sachin Tendulkar-led side in the much-anticipated final of the ongoing Road Safety World Series.

Under the leadership of Tillakaratne Dilshan, Lankans chased down the paltry target of 126 runs in the recently-concluded game against Proteas and secured their berth in the final clash at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur.

Ahead of the “Big game” against India,  Dilshan said, “We are getting good support back home. Many people left work early and I heard that they were gathering in big numbers to watch this match on a big screen.

“Only my hammy (hamstring) is a bit bad, rest all are fine. Big game. India have been playing really well. If we can continue this brand of cricket in the final, I think we can cross the line,” the 44-year-old was quoted as saying by India Today.

Notably, Nuwan Kulasekara was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka in the semifinal as he took a five-wicket-haul while conceding just 25 runs.

On the other hand, India Legends topped the group stage of the tournament, losing just once in six games. Tendulkar’s men have ticked all the boxes this season.

Earlier, India defeated the West Indies Legends by 12 runs in the nail-biting first semifinal in Raipur.
