Australia’s batting stalwart and former skipper Steve Smith completed 14,000 international runs after a match-winning knock of 94 (114) against England in the 2nd ODI match.

The 33-year-old became the ninth Australian to cross the figure and achieved the feat in 328 innings. Smith became the fastest Australian to cross 14,000 international runs. He dethroned Ponting from the top spot. 

 The right-handed batsman has amassed 4896 runs in ODIs, 8161 runs in Tests and 1008 runs in T20Is. Besides him, the other Australians to cross the 14,000-run mark are Ricky Ponting (27,368), Steve Waugh (18,496), Allan Border (17,698), Michael Clarke (17,112), David Warner (16,612), Mark Waugh (16,529), Adam Gilchrist (15,437), and Matthew Hayden (15,064).

Overall, Smith is the 6th fastest cricketer to reach this milestone. Here is the list of players who have touched the feat faster than Smith.
