Pakistan crashed out of Asia Cup 2023 on Thursday, September 14, after Sri Lanka beat the Men in Green by two wickets to qualify for the finals. The Babar Azam-led side were forced to make several changes before their game against Sri Lanka because the team got hit by injuries.
Notably, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf were ruled out of the Asia Cup because of injuries as Shahnawaz Dahani, alongside two other seamers were called in as replacements.

Dahani did not play against Sri Lanka as he recently landed in Sri Lanka. But, now with Pakistan out of the continental cup, the seamer will take a return flight to Pakistan.
Former Pakistan seamer Rashid Latif tweeted about Dahani’s travel plan, where he revealed that the seamer had to take six flights in two days to reach Sri Lanka, only for him to take another flight back home.
“Shahnawaz Dahani travelling plan. Islamabad x Karachi. Karachi x Lahore one night stay at NCA. Change his flight again to Lahore x Karachi. Karachi x Dubai tonight. Dubai x Colombo. tomorrow. Arrive tomorrow night. If Pakistan didn’t qualify then, return on the Next Flight .. Players are not ATM Machine,” tweeted Latif.
With the defeat, Pakistan also lost the title of World No. 1 ODI team, as they slipped to 3rd spot in the ICC rankings.
