Shubman Gill will play for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2023. The 16th edition of the tournament is set to start on March 31, with GT taking on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile, Gill is in great form and was recently praised by the top brass of Gujarat’s management. GT’s Director of Cricket, Vikram Solanki, said that Shubman Gill would lead the team after Hardik Pandya. Solanki also said that the player is a leader in his own right.
“Shubman Gill is a leader because he takes a lot of responsibility. I think it is not important to be officially declared a captain. He adapted the role last year,” said Solanki.
“Shubman will be a captain in the future. No decision has been made about that, but he has qualities and is very talented,” he added.
Gill was the fifth-highest run-scorer and the second-highest for Gujarat after skipper Hardik Pandya in IPL 2022.
