Sarfaraz Khan and Suryakumar Yadav
Fans bashed selectors for preferring SKY over Sarfaraz Khan

The BCCI, on Friday, January 13, announced the T20I and ODI squad for the forthcoming tour against New Zealand. The apex board also released a 17-member list for the first two Tests against Australia.

There were a few changes in the list for all three formats. Prithvi Shaw was recalled after 537 days. Meanwhile, Harshal Patel faced the axe in the shortest format.

KL Rahul and Axar Patel will not be available for the series against New Zealand as they have requested a break due to family commitments.

The biggest surprise was to see T20I stalwart Suryakumar Yadav finding a place in the Test list alongside his MI teammate Ishan Kishan.

However, one thing that irked the fans the most was to see Sarfaraz Khan’s name missing from the list.

The 25-year-old has been constantly ignored by the selectors despite his stellar form in the domestic circuit.

Sarfaraz has scored 3380 first-class runs in just 36 matches at an average of 80.47. Notably, Only Sir Don Bradman has had more average than Sarfaraz in first-class cricket.

The Mumbai star, who has 12 hundred and nine fifty-plus scores, failed to fetch selectors’ attention but has successfully gained fans’ support.

The cricket lovers, in unison, raised their voices on social media against the unfair treatment towards Sarfaraz and bashed the inclusion of Suryakumar Yadav, whom they feel does not deserve a place ahead of Khan.

Here are some of the reactions on the net.

Another noticeable missing from the released squads was of Arshdeep Singh, who was dropped from the ODIs.
