While the England supporters criticized the Yorkshire batsman, their Indian counterparts did not miss out on an opportunity to troll Bairstow.

England batsman Jonny Bairstow had another miserable outing as he was castled by Ravichandran Ashwin on Day 3 of the ongoing fourth Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium. This was Jonny Bairstow’s third duck in his last four Test innings in India.

While the England supporters criticized the Yorkshire batsman, their Indian counterparts did not miss out on an opportunity to troll Bairstow, who once again failed to find his purple patch in the longest format of the game. In fact, many suggested that he might never play Test cricket again.

Here’s what Netizens had to say:

Notably, Jonny Bairstow was England’s second-highest run-scorer in the Test series against Sri Lanka, earlier this year. He, however, was rested for the first two Tests against India as part of England Cricket Board (ECB) rotation policy.

Several former England players like Kevin Pietersen and Michael Vaughan slammed ECB’s workload management policy. They suggested England should have played their strongest XI in India.

However, Bairstow’s return hasn’t had much impact on England’s batting as failed to open his account in the third Test. He got a good start in the first innings of the ongoing Test but was soon dismissed by Mohammed Siraj for 28.

Bairstow is also a part of England T20I squad against India. It will be interesting to see how he fairs out in the white-ball games.
