Former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer on Saturday took to Twitter and trolled Team India trio — Axar Patel, Ishant Sharma, and Mohammed Siraj — after India were bowled out for 365 on Day 3 of the ongoing fourth and final Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Washington Sundar was left stranded on 96* after Axar, Ishant and Siraj lost their wicket in quick successions. Taking cognizance of the same, Jaffer hilariously trolled the trio as the all-rounder was denied a chance to register his maiden Test century.
“Axar, Ishant and Siraj next time they meet Washington’s father at a function. But seriously this 96* is no less than a hundred, very well played @Sundarwashi5 #INDvENG,” Wasim Jaffer captioned a meme on Twitter.
Talking about Sundar, the Indian all-rounder was involved in two 100+ runs partnerships with centurion Rishabh Pant (101) and Axar Patel (43) respectively. Despite missing out on a maiden Test hundred, Sundar entertained the crowd to the core.
At Tea, England were 91/6 as R Ashwin and Axar bagged three wickets each to put India in the driving seat. The visitors need 69 runs to avoid another humliatng defeat, having lost the third Test in less than two days. As things stand, India are likely to seal the series and qualify for the ICC World Test Championship.
