Ravindra Jadeja has joined Chennai Super Kings ahead of the Indian Premier League 2023. However, a big drama unfolded before the all-rounder agreed to stay with his franchise.
According to Cricbuzz, Jadeja had a long chat with captain MS Dhoni. The veteran also spoke to CEO Kasi Viswanathan before the misunderstanding was cleared.
Jadeja clearly informed Dhoni and Kasi about what irked him and what he expects before the start of the 16th season.
MSD and Viswanathan cleared the events surrounding Jadeja’s appointment and sacking from CSK captaincy midway through the last season. The Chennai-based franchise finished ninth in the points table, having won just 4 matches.
Jadeja was upset for a couple of reasons. He was furious with his sacking and performance. He scored 116 runs at an average of 19 and claimed five wickets in 10 games.
Dhoni’s comment on his captaincy also played a big role in a break up of Jadeja’s relationship with CSK. He found it unnecessary and never expected Mahi saying such things about him. However, Jadeja was explained everything in detail by Dhoni and he agreed to play for the team in IPL 2023
