According to a previous IANS report from November, both Rajasthan Royals (RR) and defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were in the running to secure Gahunje as their home venue for IPL 2026. RR had already carried out a stadium inspection and an initial evaluation of the surrounding infrastructure.
