Ashwin in a press conference.
Ashwin revealed the player he thought would have joined the Fab 4

Ravichandran Ashwin won the player of the match award for his heroics in the 2nd Test match against Bangladesh, which helped India whitewash The Tigers 2-0.

The 36-year-old off-spinner picked up six wickets and played a valuable unbeaten knock of 42 runs in the 2nd innings, and it came at a time when the side needed it the most.

India required 110 runs to win before the start of day 4, and Ashwin joined hands with Shreyas Iyer to seal the win for India.

Meanwhile, Ashwin, who is not a part of the upcoming Sri Lanka series, uploaded a video on his official YouTube channel, where he shared a few behind-the-scenes anecdotes from the 2nd match.

Ashwin shed light on the after scenes of the play on day 3, where he met Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan near the swimming pool and had a good conversation about the game.

“Mehidy and Litton Das were swimming in the pool. I joined them and thought that they will tease me in Bengali. But they sledged me, and I congratulated them for the win. They said, ‘ Ash bhai, we know you guys’ bat deep, but yes, it will not be easy for you guys. I challenged them and said to wait till the 35th over, and then the match will shift, and that’s what happened.”

Ashwin further revealed having a fondness for Litton Das but is disappointed as he thought he would have reached the likes of Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson.

“I told Litton that I saw him during his Test debut. I was very impressed by him. But I told him that I have a small disappointment. I thought he will reach the level of Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Joe Root, and Kane Williamson. He replied, ‘ Ash bhai, I agree, but we don’t get much exposure since we play only here’.”
