Prithvi Shaw has returned to the Indian team after being dropped from the squad last year during the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The young opener is currently gearing up for the upcoming limited-overs series against Sri Lanka, starting from July 13.
Ahead of the series against Lankans, Shaw has admitted that he is excited to play under the guidance of his Under-19 World Cup coach, Rahul Dravid, once again.
Lauding Dravid’s “out of the world” coaching style, Prithvi said that he enjoys playing under the Indian legend.
“There is a different kind of enjoyment playing under Rahul sir. He was our India Under-19 coach. The way he speaks, the way he shares his coaching experience, is just amazing,” the 21-year-old was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
“Whenever he talks about the game, it shows how much experience he brings to the table. He knows everything about cricket. The way he speaks on conditions and explains to us how to use them is out of this world,” the youngster added.
Prithvi Shaw had a terrific domestic season earlier this year and he impressed everyone with his much-improved batting display in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Mumbai batsman will be looking to perform well for the Men in Blue in the upcoming white-ball series.
The Shikhar Dhawan-led side will play three ODIs and as many T20Is against Sri Lanka in Colombo.
