Gautam Gambhir often makes it to the news over his alleged rift with MS Dhoni. The former India opener has often criticised the media for showcasing MS Dhoni as the sole performer in the 2011 World Cup and ignoring other players who did well.
In recent events, for a change, Gambhir heaped massive praise on the former skipper and remarked that Dhoni sacrificed individual runs for trophies.

Gambhir stated that Mahi was the first keeper for India who could change the game with his batting. “India have had players who were keepers first and batters later, but MSD was a batter first and then a wicket-keeper. He could change the game with his power hitting at No.7 position. “
Gambhir also remarked that MSD was a selfless captain and always put the team ahead of himself. “He could have continued to bat at No.3 and broke a plethora of records, but he sacrificed his batting position to win trophies for India.”
MS Dhoni finished his ODI career with 10,773 runs with ten centuries and 73 fifties to his name. Mahi is the most successful Indian captain in ICC events and is the only skipper to win all white-ball trophies.
