The Men in Blue will lock horns with Sri Lanka for the final ODI on Sunday. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav’s exclusion has been the biggest talking point from the series.
Fans and experts blasted the team management for their lack of clarity since they left Kishan on the bench despite a double hundred and also for Suryakumar Yadav, who has to sit out in place of KL Rahul, who has not performed up to the mark beside his knock in the 2nd ODI.
Several experts assessed the situation and opined their views on the matter. The latest to jump on the bandwagon and weigh in his opinion is legendary Indian batter, Mohammad Kaif.
Kaif hailed Rohit for clarity of thoughts since he publicly announced that Shubman Gill is India’s first choice over Ishan Kishan.
Kaif said that Rohit and the management must give a long rope to KL Rahul and Gill.
“Gill and Rahul have been with the team for the last couple of years. The thought of having Surya and Ishan in the team is very tempting, but I feel the team must stick to Gill and KL.”
Further, the BCCI, on Friday, January 13, announced the squad for the New Zealand series and the first two Tests for the four-Test match series against Australia starting in February. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav have been given a place in the Test squad.
