The 32-year-old batter has struggled on the tour of England so far. After scoring just 12 runs in the one-off Test in Bristol, Harmanpreet finished the three-match ODI series with scores of 1, 19, and 16.
Despite Harmanpreet’s poor outings with the bat, Mithali Raj has shown immense faith in her and said that the Punjab-born player will soon find her mojo back.
After the Women in Blue defeated the hosts by four wickets in the third and final ODI in Worcester, Mithali said, “It does happen with any player. Sometimes you’re just not in form. But as a team and as a unit we back players who have been match-winners.
“We know that single-handedly she (Harmanpreet Kaur) has won games for us with her innings. This time around she needs the support of the team to back her.”
Furthermore, the 38-year-old pointed out that Harmanpreet is a destructive batter when it comes to the shortest format of the game and the upcoming T20I series would help her in regaining her confidence.
“It’s just a matter of one innings for a batter like her to get back her rhythm and timing. I’m sure with the T20I series, a format that suits her game, she will be back among the runs,” Mithali added.
