Ishan Kishan
MI shared a throwback video in which Ishan Kishan can be seen talking about the nitty-gritty of his bats.

The young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has been one of the key players for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He was the leading run-scorer for the Rohit Sharma-led side last season and played a crucial role in MI’s record-extending fifth win in UAE.

The Mumbai-based franchise recently took to its official Twitter handle and shared a throwback video in which Ishan can be seen talking about the nitty-gritty of his bats.

In the clip, the 22-year-old spoke about his preparations before the match and how many bats he usually carries with him. The youngster also revealed that he prefers a 1150gm bat.

“Let’s say I’ve asked for a bat weighing 1150 grams. But the total weight of the bat is 1150 grams. After putting the grip and the stickers, it might go up slightly. So if we want to get the weight reduced or if it feels the weight is on the lower half of the bat, we would get it balanced by shaving some of the top part off,” said Kishan.

“I carry six bats with me and one bat typically last for one tournament. If it’s a big tournament like IPL then it depends upon the number of practice sessions,” he added.

Ishan Kishan didn’t have the best of times in the 14th edition of Indian Premier League as he scored just 73 runs in five games before the tournament was suspended.

The southpaw was even dropped from MI’s playing XI in a couple of games this season after his failure with the bat.
