Ace Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan recently walked down memory lane and recalled the precious moment when he dismissed legendary wicketkeeper-batsman, MS Dhoni, during the first Qualifier of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.
Rashid, who is rated as one of the best bowlers in the cash-rich league, has admitted that dismissing the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper was a dream come true for him.
“I bowled to him, I got his wicket. It was a dream for me to get the wicket of MS Dhoni. You know how good he is against the spinners,” Rashid said in a video posted on Cricbuzz’s official Twitter handle.
Though Rashid’s IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad lost that game by two wickets, the 22-year-old received a lot of plaudits for his brilliant bowling exploits.
In the 14th edition of IPL, Rashid Khan scalped 10 wickets for SRH in seven games at an economy rate of 6.14 before the tournament was suspended due to multiple COVID-19 cases in the bio-secure bubble.
Notably, the Hyderabad-based franchise was the worst-performing team of the now-suspended season and was placed at the bottom of the points table.
With the second leg of the marquee tournament is set to begin in UAE, Rashid could play an important role for Kane Williamson-led side.
