Ishan Kishan suffered a knee injury during Rajasthan Royals’ run chase in the Indian Premier League 2025. The incident happened on the last ball of the 18th over when Ishan tried to stop a ball from crossing the boundary rope.
Shubham Dubey hit Adam Zampa’s short ball towards deep square, and Ishan attempted a desperate dive but jarred his knee into the turf. He was unable to get up and was treated by a physio for a long time. He was seen limping, and the medical staff had to put protective gear on his knee. Although he managed to come back to the middle after SRH’s 44-run win, the 26-year-old looked uncomfortable while walking.

If his knee injury is severe, it could prove to be a big blow for the Hyderabad-based franchise, as he scored a hundred in his maiden game. Ishan amassed an unbeaten 106 runs off 47 balls, with the help of 11 fours and 6 sixes. His runs came at a strike rate of 225.53. Kishan was named the Player of the Match for his magnificent effort. SRH posted 286/6, while RR managed 242/6 in response.
Mohammed Shami also suffered an injury on his palm. On the fifth delivery of the 12th over bowled by Pat Cummins, Sanju Samson tried to go for a big shot, and Shami dropped the catch at short fine leg.

The ball smacked his left palm, and he left the field. He didn’t bowl his fourth over, with Cummins, Harshal Patel, and Adam Zampa completing the job.
