Ben Stokes for CSK
Ben Stokes likely to be released ahead of IPL 2024 auction

Chennai Super Kings have started their tournament brightly as the MS Dhoni-led side are third on the table with three wins in five matches.

The positive for the four-time winners is that they have managed to pull off three wins despite a long list of injuries. Notably, CSK‘s skipper Dhoni is struggling with a knee injury, while their star bowler Deepak Chahar is also out of action for an indefinite time because of a hamstring injury.

Further, Ben Stokes also missed the last few games because of a toe injury. Recently there were reports that England’s red-ball skipper would miss the first half of the tournament. In the latest event, the CSK management provided a major update on Stokes’ injury and stated that the 31-year-old is fit and will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The news has delighted the CSK fans as Stokes’ availability will end their bowling woes. “Ben has returned to practice. He is fully fit and is also available for selection,” said a CSK official.

While Stokes has regained full fitness from his toe injury, there are a few doubts about his knee issue. Besides Stokes, there are other bowlers injured for the Men in Yellow, such as Sisanda Magala and Simranjeet Singh.
