Delhi Capitals (DC) stand-in skipper, Rishabh Pant, has been in fine form with the bat and the gloves ahead of the start of the new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He will be leading the team in the absence of Shreyas Iyer, who successfully underwent shoulder surgery on Thursday.
In terms of preparation, he has been leaving no stone unturned in preparing for the new season. Rishabh Pant, who is known for his behind the stumps gimmicks, was spotted sledging his DC teammate Sam Billings in one of DC’s net sessions ahead of their opening match against the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 10.
“Mate, welcome to India, Chennai. Bowled! someone is not hitting,” Pant said to Billings after the latter was dismissed in the nets. “@rishabpant can’t resist himself behind the stumps, even during practice,” DC captioned the video on Instagram.
Pant, who did not have a good IPL 2020 season in the UAE last year, will be looking to continue the good work behind the stumps in IPL 2021. He, however, will have some extra responsibility this season with the absece of Shreyas Iyer, who had led the team all the way to the final last season.
