Veteran India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who is plying his trade for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the ongoing edition of Indian Premier League, has showered praise on KKR’s co-owner and famous Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan for extending his support to the team in difficult times of COVID-19 pandemic.
The 40-year-old took to his official Twitter handle to thank Shah Rukh and franchise CEO Venky Mysore for taking care of the KKR family.
“Thank you @iamsrk @KKRiders @VenkyMysore for being there for all of us here in the #Kkrrfamily,” Harbhajan tweeted.
Harbhajan was roped in by the Kolkata-based franchise in the IPL 2021 auction in Chennai. The two-time champions acquired the services of experienced spinner for his base price of Rs 2 crore.
Earlier in a day, two KKR bowlers, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for novel coronavirus which led to the postponement of Kolkata’s match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The Eoin Morgan-led side was scheduled to lock horns with Virat Kohli’s men in the match number 30 of the IPL 2021 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday. However, the match will now be rescheduled to a later date.
Notably, Varun and Sandeep were found to be COVID-19 positive in the third round of testing in the last four days while all other team members have tested negative for the deadly virus.
