Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Lucknow Super Giants in their own backyard by 18 runs to level the KL Rahul-led side on the points table. However, RCB are 5th because of a poor net run rate.
The Challengers, batting first, got off to a great start, as Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli stitched another fifty-plus score stand on a slow track. The middle order let RCB down again as they failed to add runs, and the visitors put 126 on the board.
In reply, KL Rahul-less LSG could not read RCB bowlers, and wickets fell like dominos. Amit Mishra and Naveen-ul-Haq brought their side close, but even an injured KL Rahul, who came to bat at No. 11, could not seal a win for his side.
