Veteran batsman Chris Gayle shared a few videos of a light-hearted training session featuring him, Windies’ limited-overs captain Kieron Pollard, all-rounder Dwayne Bravo and pacer Fidel Edwards.
The 41-year-old gave a sneak peek of the camaraderie between the Windies cricketers. In the clip, Dwayne Bravo is seen working out while Kieron Pollard is captured throwing stones at a tree.
“We putting in some work,” the caption read.
All three players were part of the IPL 2021, which was postponed due to COVID-19. They will now take part in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2021), starting August 25 in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo will feature for the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, while Kieron Pollard will ply his trade for the Trinbago Knight Riders. Gayle, who hasn’t played in season for the last two season, had guided the Patriots to the final of CPL 2017.
CPL 2021 has been preponed on the BCCI’s request. It was originally scheduled to start on August 28, and conclude on September 19. But, it will now be played from August 26 to September 15 to avoid any possible clash with the second half of IPL 2021.
The second half of IPL 2021 is likely to commence from September 19 in the UAE.
