Veteran India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is best known for his bold and quirky statements on social media. He never shies away from expressing his thoughts on the internet. But his outspoken nature has often landed him in troubled waters.

Harbhajan recently took to his official Instagram handle and paid a tribute to Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and others, who were killed inside the Golden Temple during Operation Blue Star.

Operation Blue Star was carried out in 1984 in order to capture the Sikh Damdami Taksal leader, Bhindranwale, and his followers from the Golden temple. It was the biggest internal security mission ever undertaken by the Indian Army.

On the 37th anniversary of Operation Bluestar, Harbhajan shared a poster, featuring Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale on his Instagram story.

The text in the image written in Punjabi reads, “Heartfelt tribute to those martyred in Operation inside Shri Harmandir Sahib on June 1- June 6, 1984”

Soon after the 40-year-old cricketer uploaded the photo, his post sparked a huge controversy on social media and fans slammed Harbhajan Singh for glorifying a terrorist.
