Veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has lashed out at Babar Azam & Co. for relying on shortcuts.

After losing the first ODI in Cardiff, Pakistan suffered yet another disappointing defeat against England in the second match of the ongoing series at the Lord’s by 52 runs.

In the first two ODIs, the visitors were unable to score even 200 runs against the Ben Stokes-led side and looked clueless.

Following Pakistan’s back-to-back defeats in England, veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has lashed out at Babar Azam & Co. for relying on shortcuts.

According to Akmal, Pakistan should now look to win the third and final ODI at any cost so that they can go into the T20I series with confidence.

The 39-year-old also showered praise on the hosting team, saying the England cricketers have shown a lot of maturity in the series.

“They are mentally very strong because they have been playing cricket. They haven’t relied on shortcuts. They haven’t made it to the side based on one or two matches. The England players showed maturity. This benefited the England side who can play two teams now at one time,” Akmal said in his latest YouTube video.

“Pakistan should put in more efforts in the last match. They should win the last match so that they have a bit of confidence going into the T20s. What is being done to Pakistan cricket is there for everyone to see,” he added.

The third ODI between England and Pakistan will take place at the Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 13.
