Tim David, the Mumbai Indians (MI) batter, recently shared a heartwarming anecdote about his childhood memories with fellow cricketer Cameron Green. David and Green attended the same school in Australia, where Green was known for his impressive cricket skills.

In a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2023, Green’s exceptional performance earned him the Man of the Match award. He scored 64 off 40 balls and took 1/29. At the same time, Tim David significantly contributed to the team’s victory through his exceptional fielding skills, taking four catches and making a match-turning run-out of Washington Sundar.

After the match, David shared his childhood memories with Green, revealing that Green used to hit him for sixes during their school days. Despite David’s efforts to dismiss Green, he could not get him out, and Green’s talent was evident even then.

David recalled, “Greeny was a few years younger than me, and maybe I’d left school. I might have been one or two years out, and I used to come down coach in the morning before school, and there was this little cheeky bugger. He wasn’t as tall as he is now, and he just used to smack me out. I had the side arm throwing at him. I used to try and bump him. I just couldn’t get him out.”

David concluded his interaction with Green by congratulating him on his achievements and expressing his pride in Green’s growth as a cricketer. Green’s remarkable performance in the IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad and his childhood memories with David testifies to his unwavering talent and passion for the sport.
