Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by eight wickets in game number 14 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday, April 9. This was the second match of the double-header. With the result, SRH registered their first win of the IPL 2023 season. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and decided to bowl first in the match. Their bowlers did exceedingly well to restrict Punjab Kings to 143 for 9. SRH then chased down the target in 17.1 overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad

Mayank Agarwal (4.5/10): Looked good for his 21 off 20 balls. Hit three fours before being dismissed by Rahul Chahar.

Harry Brook (4/10): Experienced another failure. Was bowled by Arshdeep Singh for 13 off 14 balls.

Rahul Tripathi (9/10): Played a fantastic hand in the chase. Remained unbeaten on 74 off 48 balls, hitting 10 fours and three sixes. Ensured SRH did not face any hiccups in the chase.

Aiden Markram (6/10): Played a good. Remained unbeaten on 37 off 21 balls, hitting six fours. Opened up towards the end of the innings.

Marco Jansen (8/10): Was excellent with the ball in hand. Bowled three overs for 16, which included a maiden. Got the wickets of Matthew Short and Jitesh Sharma.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (4.5/10): Trapped Prabhsimran Singh lbw first ball. Dropped Shikhar Dhawan thrice. Ended with figures of 1/33 from four overs.

Mayank Markande (9.5/10): Was the best bowler on the show for SRH. Claimed 4/15 in his four overs, spinning a web around PBKS batters. Dismissed Sam Curran, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Chahar, and Nathan Ellis.

Umran Malik (7/10): Enjoyed a good spell with the ball. Dismissed Sikandar Raza with a bouncer and Harpreet Brar with a length ball. Finished with figures of 2/32.

T Natarajan (3/10): Had a disappointing day with the ball. Went wicketless and conceded 40 runs in four overs.

Punjab Kings

Shikhar Dhawan (9.5/10): Played a splendid knock. Hit an unbeaten 99 off 66 balls with the aid of 12 fours and five sixes. Looked in complete control even as wickets kept falling at the other end.

Prabhsimran Singh (0/10): Was out for a first ball duck, trapped lbw by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Matthew Short (0.5/10): Was trapped lbw for 1 by Marco Jansen.

Jitesh Sharma (1/10): Scored 4 before miscuing a full delivery from Marco Jansen to be caught at mid-off.

Shahrukh Khan (2/10): Had another failure. Scored 4 before being trapped lbw by Mayank Markande

Sikandar Raza (2/10): Came in as the Impact Player, but failed to make an impact. Was dismissed by the bouncer from Umran Malik.

Sam Curran (5/10): Scored 22 off 15. Was one of Markande’s four victims. Bowled three overs for 14 without claiming a wicket.

Nathan Ellis (4/10): Bowled three overs for 28. Did not claim a wicket.

Mohit Rathee (1.5/10): Was very expensive. Went for 29 runs in two overs without claiming a wicket.

Harpreet Brar (3/10): Bowled 3.1 overs for 26. Did not pick up a wicket.

Rahul Chahar (5/10): Got the wicket of Mayank Agarwal. Ended with figures of 1/28 from three overs.

Arshdeep Singh (5/10): Bowled three overs for 20. Got the wicket of Harry Brook. Could not do much since Punjab did not have runs on the board.
