India booked their place in the Super Four round on Monday, September 4, after they beat Nepal by ten wickets. While the Men in Blue won the match, Nepal won fans’ hearts as the Rohit Paudel-led side played their maiden Asia Cup tournament and put up a solid show against India.

Despite losing their first game against Pakistan by an embarrassing margin, Nepal, batting first, against India, put 230 runs on the board. After a long rain delay, India chased down the reduced target of 147 without any trouble.

After the game, Indian star player Virat Kohli, who did not get to bat, made Nepal cricketers’ day as he interacted with the players and also gave his autograph on a shoe to Sompal Kami.

The all-rounder took to social media to express his admiration for Virat Kohli. He posted a picture of Virat with the signed shoe and wrote, “Virat Kohli is not just a cricketer, he’s an emotion.”

Kami had a great time against India, as he was his side’s second top-scorer with 48 (56), which included two sixes and a solitary boundary.

India will next face Pakistan on September 10.
