England produced one of Test cricket’s memorable wins as they thumped Babar Azam-led Pakistan by 74 runs to lead 1-0 in the 3 Test match series.
After the first two days of the Rawalpindi Test, the match was heading towards a draw as both teams were on a run spree. The fans and experts criticised PCB for preparing a flat pitch.
After the match concluded, PCB chairman Ramiz Raja also expressed his disappointment over the pitch. He said the pitch could have been better and is embarrassing for Pakistan and its cricket.
His comments did not go well with former Pakistani cricketers, who reminded Raja that he is the chairman of the board. Former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar is the latest to join the bandwagon and lashed out at Raja.
Akhtar was left astonished by the chairman’s choice of words and said that someone should remind Raja that he is the chairman and holds the authority to make better pitches.
“Oo bhaiji, chairman aap hain. (Brother, you are the chairman). You have the power to make better pitches.”
Akhtar earlier praised England for their winning mentality and praised their skipper Ben Stokes for a bold declaration.
