Virender Sehwag’s son Aaryavir in Delhi squad
The 15-year-old is a batter but doesn't play attacking cricket like his father.

Virender Sehwag’s son Aaryavir was named in Delhi U-16 probables for the Vijay Merchant Trophy 2022-23. 79 boys were part of the list, but Sehwag’s son, who eventually made it to the squad, hogged the limelight.

He was happy with his selection and posted Instagram stories to celebrate the special day. His mother, Arti Sehwag, was proud of her son.

He was not selected for the first match against Hyderabad but was the fifteenth member on the team sheet for the second fixture against Bihar.

Star kids are often targeted on social media whenever they are included in any team. When Aaryavir was named in the team, tweets of nepotism and favouritism were doing the rounds. The 15-year-old is a batter but doesn’t play attacking cricket like his father.

“He is not like Sehwag. His footwork is good, and he is a good learner of the game,” Akash Malhotra, DDCA junior selection committee chairperson, told cricketnext.com.
