Adam Gilchrist was one of the finest wicket-keeper batters during his tenure in international cricket. He was renowned for his attacking batting across formats. Many believe Rishabh Pant is like the former Aussie superstar.
In his short career so far, Pant has played some of the best breathtaking knocks ever by an Indian player.
He is the only Indian keeper to have Test centuries in England, Australia and South Africa. The southpaw is a game changer like Gilchrist.
“Pant is one of the most exciting batters to watch and I think he lights up a match,” said Adam Gilchrist.
Despite his magnificent batting, Rishabh has often been criticised for playing reckless shots.
Gilchrist requested the BCCI, Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid and national selectors to be patient with Pant.
“The BCCI, Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma and the selectors need to be patient with him. Don’t be harsh with him if he fails in a few matches,” he added.
