Royal Challengers Bangalore had a near-perfect day against Rajasthan Royals, as they beat the last year’s finalist by 112 runs to climb fifth on the table.
RCB, batting first, put 171/5 on the board, while Rajasthan Royals scripted their 2nd lowest total in the history of IPL and got all-out on just 59 runs. The positive for RCB was Anuj Rawat, as their middle order was under the scanner.
Rawat scored 29(11), but Dinesh Karthik again failed with the bat as he registered a two-ball duck. The 38-year-old is having a hard time this season and has amassed just 140 runs and averages just 12.73, his worst since the start of the IPL in 2008.
After the win, the fans did not spare Karthik, who also etched an unwanted record. It was Dinesh’s 16th duck in IPL, the joint-most. The RCB fans bashed Karthik, and a few even demanded his ouster from the side. Here are some of the reactions.
With the win against RR, RCB strengthened their chances to qualify for the playoffs as the Faf du Plessis-led side are 5th on the table with 12 points and will play SRH and GT in their remaining two games.
