Irfan Pathan Blind Ranks Top All-Time Innings Ahead of IPL 2026

Overview:

Rounding out the list at No. 1 was Chris Gayle’s unforgettable 175* off 66 balls for RCB against Pune Warriors in 2013.

As the IPL 2026 season approaches, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan shared his list of the top five individual innings in IPL history. Leading the rankings was Brendon McCullum’s breathtaking 158* off 75 balls during the inaugural IPL match in 2008. Representing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), McCullum decimated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a stunning opening performance, with Pathan placing this knock at No. 2.

Following McCullum, Abhishek Sharma‘s explosive 141 off 55 balls against Punjab Kings (PBKS) last year was ranked at No. 5. In an epic chase of 246, Abhishek’s superb century almost single-handedly guided Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to a win.

Shane Watson’s 57-ball 117*, a crucial knock in CSK’s IPL 2018 final victory over SRH, came in at No. 4. Watson’s stellar performance helped CSK chase down 179 and claim their third IPL title.

Suresh Raina’s iconic 87 from just 25 balls was next, securing No. 3 on the list. Despite being in a losing effort in Qualifier 2 against PBKS, Raina’s blistering knock nearly powered Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to an impossible win while coming just 13 runs short of a century before being run out.

Rounding out the list at No. 1 was Chris Gayle’s unforgettable 175* off 66 balls for RCB against Pune Warriors in 2013. Gayle’s innings, featuring 17 sixes and 13 fours, remains the highest individual score in IPL history. His century came off just 30 balls, a record that still stands today. Gayle also contributed with the ball, taking two wickets in RCB’s dominant 130-run victory
