Delhi Capitals’ all-rounder Rovman Powell has opened up about his journey as a cricketer.

Delhi Capitals star Rovman Powell said that he was hoping that the umpires would call the high full toss a no-ball as he was confident of hitting six sixes in the last over to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match against Rajasthan Royals.

However, Powell and the rest of the Delhi Capitals have moved on from the incident. Needing 36 runs for a win off 6 balls, which was a hip-high full-toss from Obed McCoy, to bring the equation down to 18 runs from three balls.

However, the DC camp demanded a no-ball, which was turned down by the umpires. Skipper Rishabh Pant wanted to forfeit the game and even sent assistant coach Pravin Amre to speak to the umpires.

“We have put that behind us as we have a lot of games coming up, and there is no time to dwell in the past,” Powell was quoted as saying in a media release.

“To be honest, I was confident of hitting six sixes in an over. I was hoping it was a no-ball, but the umpire’s decision is final, and we as cricketers take that and move on.”
