Umran Malik took three wickets in the 20th over of the Punjab Kings’ innings without conceding a run. Overall, four wickets fell as the last batter was run-out while trying to take a run off the sixth ball.

Umran registered figures of 4-1-28-4 to restrict the rivals to 151 from 20 overs. He became the third bowler in the history of the Indian Premier League to bowl a wicket-maiden 20th over in an IPL match.

Lasith Malinga achieved the feat against Deccan Chargers in 2009, while Jaydev Unadkat added his name to the list against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2017.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old was not bothered by Mumbai’s heat as he has an experience of bowling in testing weather conditions in Jammu.

“The heat does not impact me as we have hot conditions in Jammu, and I have the experience of bowling in those conditions,” he said.

When the Jammu & Kashmir pacer was asked about his line and length, he said: “I am trying to bowl into the middle of the wicket rather away from the stumps. This has helped me in IPL 2022,” he added.
