Former India cricketer and one of the leading commentators in IPL 2022, Harbhajan Singh, has reserved special praise for Tilak Varma, the young batter of Mumbai Indians. Tilak has been the find of the season for the franchise, and even captain Rohit Sharma sees him playing for Indian across formats.
In 12 IPL matches, he has scored 368 runs at an average of 40.88 and a strike rate of 132.85. The southpaw has hit two fifties, including 27 fours and 15 sixes in the 15th edition of the tournament.
Harbhajan feels Tilak is the future captain of the five-time champions as he has all the skills to lead the franchise. “He has been phenomenal for the franchise since day one. Tilak has a mature head on his shoulder, and he doesn’t look like a new entrant to the IPL. This guy has the potential to lead Mumbai Indians in the future,” said Harbhajan.
