Sunrisers Hyderabad’s campaign in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has been like a rollercoaster ride. After starting the campaign with two defeats, they made a remarkable comeback and recorded five victories. However, things changed again as SRH lost their next five games to derail their chances of qualifying for the knockouts. Captain Kane Williamson’s struggle with the bat has impacted the franchise.
The right-handed batter has scored just 208 runs. Meanwhile, former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has slammed Kane for his poor captaincy.
Williamson gave last over to Washington Sundar against KKR, and Andre Russell took full advantage of the situation. He slammed the bowler for three sixes.
Baffled with the bizarre tactic, Chopra questioned Williamson’s thinking.
“Kane, the captain, has failed twice against KKR. Jagadeesha Suchith bowled the last over at the Brabourne Stadium, and here it was Washington Sundar,” he said.
“He is one of the better captains but has goofed up twice against Andre Russell. That’s like sending a lamb to a slaughterhouse. What do you get? You get slaughtered, that’s it,” he added.
