Shikhar Dhawan's innings of 70 off 50 balls against the Rohit Sharma-led team earned him praise from Virender Sehwag.

The veteran opener has been unstoppable for Punjab Kings right from the start of IPL 2022. Shikhar Dhawan’s innings of 70 off 50 balls against the Rohit Sharma-led team earned him praise from Virender Sehwag.

Sehwag said on Cricbuzz: “Shikhar is a very good player. He loves scoring runs s against his favorite team, which is Mumbai Indians. He scored against MI when he was playing for Delhi Capitals.”

“I think scoring 70 in 50 balls is a little slow. Had he scored 85 in the same number of balls, they would have scored around 215. He would have pushed the scoring rate if he stayed till the end, but he lost his wicket. Gabbar is Gabbar, and teams should be scared of him.”

The southpaw has amassed 197 runs in five matches at an average of 39.40 in the 15th season of the tournament.
