Andre Russell was going great guns before Avesh Khan got rid of him in a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants.

Avesh Khan was the game-changer for Lucknow Super Giants in their third game of IPL 2022. He took 4 wickets and played a vital role in his team’s second win of the season. Avesh’s two wickets in the 18th over brought the game in Lucknow’s favor. Even in the powerplay, he got rid of dangerous Kane Williamson, who could have won the game for his side.

When Avesh was asked about looking for a five-wicket haul in the game, he said – “Team is more important for me than 5 wickets in an IPL game. I was never looking for five wickets. The aim was to take wickets and bowl dot balls. I bowled with variations as bowling one type of ball can make the batters comfortable against you, and they can hit you for runs.”

He highlighted the dressing room environment at LSG. “Everything is good. Gauti bhai, Andy Flower, and KL Rahul have given me full freedom, and they trust my bowling.”
