Riyan Parag was under the scanner for failing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. He was slammed by former cricketers and fans for his inconsistent batting. However, he roared back to form when it mattered the most. Rajasthan Royals had lost key wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore and were in danger of getting dismissed under 120.
However, Riyan Parag played smartly and scored an unbeaten 56 off 31 balls, with the help of 4 sixes and 3 fours, to take RR to 144/8 in 20 overs. His innings proved to be the difference as RCB were all-out for 115, losing the match by 29 runs.
Captain Sanju Samson was impressed with Parag’s performance and gave a mouth-shutting reply to his critics. “We know what he is capable of and today, he showed it to the whole world. Our management always had a belief in him despite his low scores in the few games of the tournament,” he said.
