Ruturaj Gaikwad of Chennai Super Kings has joined great Sachin Tendulkar in one of the record lists. He became the fastest Indian to score 1000 runs in the league. The right-handed batter took 31 innings to reach the milestone. Tendulkar was the first player to complete 1,000 runs in IPL in 31 games.
Gaikwad, who failed in the starting games, has returned back to form in the last four games. He was the Orange Cap winner in the 14th season of the tournament and played a key role in CSK’s fourth title triumph. In the latest game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he was batting on 52 at the time of writing the news.
Meanwhile, CSK are ninth in the points table with just 2 wins from eight games. Ravindra Jadeja recently resigned from the captaincy and urged MS Dhoni to lead the side in the remaining matches, who has accepted the request.
